Liz Klingensmith
Womble Bond Dickinson continues to add top talent to the firm’s growing Houston office with the addition of veteran energy industry litigation attorney Liz Klingensmith.
Liz works closely with energy industry clients through the dispute resolution process whether through pre-litigation negotiation or the persuasion of a judge or jury in court. Business-minded and experienced, Liz adds to Womble Bond Dickinson’s growing bench of talent that serves the energy industry.
“Liz has a proven track record of being able to help companies resolve mission-critical disputes, and we are pleased to have her on the Womble Bond Dickinson team,” said Chris Jones, leader of Womble Bond Dickinson’s Business Litigation Practice Group. “She joins a team of more than 300 litigation attorneys in the US and UK, so we have the experience and bench strength to help clients meet their most difficult business litigation challenges.”
Liz maintains a visible profile in Houston through her work with the Houston Bar Association, Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Section and the Institute for Energy Law.
Womble Bond Dickinson Houston Office Managing Partner Jeff Whittle said, “Liz has deep roots in Houston and strong ties to the region’s energy sector. She is well-known and respected in the local legal community, and Liz will be an outstanding addition to our Houston office.”
About the move to Womble Bond Dickinson, Liz said, “I wanted to be part of something new. I didn’t know what that was until I met Chris Jones, Jeff Whittle, Tony Guerino and many others at Womble. What I discovered through those meetings, is an incredible law firm well-positioned to impact Houston’s energy sector with a dynamic and innovative team of lawyers, and I wanted to be part of the team.”
Liz helps clients resolve disputes in Texas, Oklahoma and North Dakota arising from oil and gas leases and assignments, joint operations, joint accounting, mergers and acquisitions, preferential rights or areas of mutual interests, surface use accommodation and damages, oilfield services and equipment, seismic operations, equipment and pipeline failure, nuisance, quiet title, surface and subsurface trespass, hydraulic fracturing, mineral liens and theft of trade secrets.
Liz is the second prominent business litigation partner to join Womble Bond Dickinson’s Houston office in recent months. In February, the firm added veteran energy and environmental litigation attorney Tony Guerino to its Houston team.
Liz comes to Womble Bond Dickinson from Blank Rome in Houston.
